GCI wins the 4th Quadrangular Hockey Competition.

The Government College, Ibadan has emerged champions of the fourth edition of the Government College, Ibadan Quadrangular Hockey tournament when they defeated their opponent from the International College of Arts, Science and Technology 2-0 in the final match played at the hockey pitch of the host institution.

The two goals, one goal each half, were scored by GCI�s sensational player Oluwatobi Odedokun, who emerged tournament�s highest goal scorer.

The champion�s team, GCI hockey team was presented with a giant trophy and medals by the Secretary General of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Mr. Tunde Popoola, who is a co-sponsor of the tournament and also an old student of GCI.

For the annual tournament that saw four teams: GCI, ICAST, Lead City High School, Ibadan and the St. James High School, Osun State competed for honours, Popoola noted that, he would use his influence in the Olympic Committee to ensure the Government College Ibadan, further develop the hockey team by getting donations of hockey equipment from the international federations.
