1983 Set Donates Lawn Mowers to Support Green Environment at GCI

image The 1983 Set of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association (GCIOBA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to maintaining the serene environment of Government College Ibadan with the donation of several lawn mowers to the school.

The donation took place on February 10, 2026, when representatives of the set visited the school to formally present the equipment. The mowers are intended to support the regular maintenance of the school’s lawns and help sustain the green landscape for which Government College Ibadan is well known.
Members of the set present at the donation included Adewale Adeyemo, Secretary of the 1983 Set; Yomi Oguneso; and the Chairman of the set, Engr. .Olajide Ajibola.

The 1983 Set has been notably instrumental in supporting environmental maintenance at the school. Last year, a member of the set Soji Olagunju, donated a brand-new tractor to aid grounds maintenance. The same benefactor also previously provided about five brush cutters, further strengthening the school’s capacity to keep its grounds well maintained.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the school was the Principal, Mr. Olugbemi Oresegun, who expressed deep appreciation to the 1983 Set for their continued generosity and dedication to the welfare of the school. Also present at the event was Mr. Opeyemi Okeleke, the Acting School Administrator representing GCIOBA.

The donation reinforces the long-standing tradition of old boys contributing to the development and upkeep of their alma mater, ensuring that Government College Ibadan continues to maintain its legacy of excellence and a conducive learning environment.
