The boys of Government College Ibadan have continued with their winning streak as they emerged as the first runner-up in the just concluded Zonal Science Competition organised by the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, Abuja.

The duo of Kolawole Emmanuel (a DJB Foundation scholar) and Ajibola Ebenezer represented the school, and knocked out their counterparts from Wesley College, Ibadan; Oladipupo Alayande School of Science, Ibadan; and Queen School, Ibadan at the preliminary stage.

The precocious SSS II boys proceeded to the final stage of the competition where there galantly lost to Rhema College in a keenly contested final competition. GCI gathered 63/31/94 points, while Rhema College triumphed with 63/34/99 points. Oritamefa Baptist Model College came third with 63/28/91 points.
