GCI Boys Win Gold Medals At The 2018 Ajumose Inter-School Sports Festival

image The 2018 Annual Ajumose Inter-School Sports Festival organised by the Oyo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; in collaboration with the State's Ministry of Youths and Sports had come and gone.

The grand finale of the three-day sporting event took place at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan on Wednesday, 17th of January, 2018. The event which was aimed at scouting young talents was attended by the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Adeniyi Olowofela. The Honourable Commissioner commended the students for giving the State a hope of better and brighter tomorrow. Other top ranked government officials, prominent sport personalities, representatives from NUT, Oyo State Chapter, and public secondary school students in the state also graced the grand finale.

The Cadet Boys of Government College Ibadan entertained the guests and spectators with their Full Parade, and their sterling performance was appraised by the Honourable Commissioner.

The events had all Public Secondary Schools in the State divided into zones, each zone slugging it out with one another in various field and track events.

GCI starlets, Amosun Samuel (SSS 3D), Egbe Promise (SSS 3C), Adedidran Idris (SSS 3B), Popoola Muiz (SSS 3A), and Anjorin Emmanuel (SSS 3A) represented Ibadan Zone, and won gold medals in the 100 and 200 meters race.

At the end, Saki zone was the overall winner, while Ogbomoso and Ibadan were the second and third overall winners of the competition respectively
