Thursday, 28th of February, 2019 was a day of sheer bliss in the heart of both Old Boys and students of Government College Ibadan as the defunct The Rock Magazine was revived courtesy of the 1991-September Set of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association.
The magazine was relaunched on 28th of February, 2019 - a date commemorating the 90th anniversary of the school during the 80th Inter House Athletics Competition of the school at the School Main Pitch, BCGA.

1991-September Set Obtains UTME Form For GCI Students
The Class of 1991-September Set has again extended her philanthropic hand to her Alma Mater as they obtained University Tertiary Matriculation Examination forms for three best students of Government College Ibadan.

GCI Students Win 1961 Cash Prizes
Thursday, 7th of March, 2019 was a rewarding day for some students of Government College Ibadan as the best students in Agricultural Science, alongside the Agric. Science Teachers in the senior school were rewarded with cash prizes courtesy of 1961 Set.
It would be recalled that the Agricultural Science Department had 98.8% in the 2017/2018 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Sets Donate Whiteboards To GCI
The tradition of giving back to the Alma Mater lives on as younger Sets emulate older Sets, commission projects in their Alma Mater.
The 1995 Set had earlier donated 5 large whiteboards to the school in December, 2018; after which members of 2005 Set kept the pace in February, 2019 just 8 years after their exit from the prestigious institution by donating 2 large whiteboards to Government College Ibadan. At the 89th Anniversary and 2018 Annual Reunion of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association held between 19th and 20th of October, 2018 at the school grounds, four different Old Boys were honoured with the GCIOBA (National) Merit Award 2018 and admitted to the GCIOBA Roll of Honour.
