1991-SEPTEMBER SET RESUSCITATES TABLE TENNIS GAME IN GCI
The good old days of Government College Ibadan is gradually coming back to the fore, as 1991-September Set of GCIOBA rescued Table Tennis from oblivion in their Alma Mater.
While the School has continually gained overwhelming fame over time in outdoor games such as Cricket, Hockey and Soccer; the game of Table Tennis has now been resuscitated, courtesy of the 1991-September Set.

1997 SET PRESENTS 1000 NOTEBOOKS TO GCI
The 1997 Class Set of Government College Ibadan on Thursday, March 4, 2021 donated 1000 pieces of notebooks to the school as part of their yearly class project.

GCIOBA-1994 SET DONATES 3000 BOOKS TO GCI
Following the resumption of the public secondary schools in the Pacesetter state on Monday, 11th January, 2020; a donation of 3000 exercise books was made to Government College Ibadan on Friday, 15th January, 2021 by the 1994 Set of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association.

UI COUNCIL APPOINTS PROF. EKANOLA AS THE ACTING VICE--CHANCELLOR
The Governing Council of University of Ibadan has appointed Professor Adebola Ekanola (Powell, 1980), as the Acting Vice Chancellor of University of Ibadan at its meeting on Monday, 30 November, 2020 on the recommendation of the School's Senate.
This came after the Ministry of Educaton through the National Universities Commission, told the Senate of the University to select one from among them to act as the Vice Chancellor of the school.

The 1978 Set of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association has donated 2000 pieces of exercise books to the incoming JSS 1 boys of Government College Ibadan.
The donation, courtesy of the Europe Branch of the Set; was presented on Friday, 6th November, 2020 at the Principal's office by the Set Chairman Segun Fatoki (1978) and the Set Assistant General Secretary, Dapo Adigun. LIKEMINDS OF 1991-JANUARY SET OF GCIOBA, AGAIN KITS UP GCI STUDENTS
As part of its tradition, the Likeminds of 1991-January Set of Government College Ibadan Old Boys Association donated complete kits of school apparel to GCI boys.
The ten (10) beneficiaries of the project were indigent students who were carefully selected across the three schools based on their dire need for a total overhaul of their school apparels. Each apparel included a brand new GCI 2 shirts, 2 shorts,a brown belt, a school bag, as well as 12 pieces of exercise books.
