GCIOBA-85 Set took off formally as an Association and offshoot of the GCIOBA National body in 2010 under the distinguished chairmanship of Mr. Segun Idowu. He steered the ship of the Set from 2010 till 2013 and organised the Set to deliver several give back projects notably the renovation of the block of 4 classrooms of JSS 1 (2011) at the cost of over #1,500,000.00 to mark our 25th Anniversary of graduation from GCI. We also delivered two standard table tennis boards to GCI (2012) and two lawn mowers (2013).

Mr. Segun Idowu handed over to Mr. Folarin Familusi (2013 - 2015). Mr. Familusi continued the Class legacy of annually giving back to GCI. Under his watch in 2015, the Set delivered the renovation of the Corpers lodge, adjoining 2 blocks of toilet facilities and renovation of 2 blocks of classrooms at well over the sum of #2,000,000 to commemorate the Class Set 30th anniversary of admission into GCI.

In 2016 under the Chairmanship of Seye Arowolo, the Set delivered 30 mattresses to the Corpers' lodge to improve the comfort of corps members posted as teachers to GCI. Underpinning all these laudable projects is the inestimable investment in time, effort and money by Class members in their consuming passion to make a difference to the Alma Mater.

The current administration, Chaired by Olubukola Alabi has continued in the good works of the set. Their recent projects include the sponsorship of WAEC and UTME exams for the best 20 students and cash awards to the best 10 teachers in the school.

The pioneering efforts of Mr. Bayo Odunade, Charles Sanwo, Femi Sodeinde, Kunmi Adio-Moses, Leke Yusuf and the irrepressible Mr. Olayinka Yusuf in our remarkable journey from inauguration till date is worthy of note and deserving of mention.
