Dr Christopher Kolade was born in Erin-Oke, Osun State in 1932. After his secondary school education at Government College, Ibadan, he attended Fourah Bay College, Freetown, Sierra Leone in 1951.

He started his career in 1955 as an Education Officer at Government College Ughelli. In 1960, he joined the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation and retired as Director-General in 1978 to join Cadbury Nigeria where he became Managing Director in 1984 and Executive Chairman in 1993.

In 2002, Dr. Kolade was appointed Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. Following his return to Nigeria in 2008, he resumed teaching and research at the Pan-African University.

He has taught Corporate Governance and Human Resources Management at Lagos Business School (LBS), and Leadership & Conflict Management at School of Media & Communication (SMC).

Dr. Kolade is the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Pan-African University and Chairman, Board of Trustees, Caleb University, Imota, Lagos.

Chancellor, McPherson University, Ogun State.

He received the medal of the Order of St. Augustine from the Archbishop of Canterbury (1981), and is also a Lay Canon of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit in the Diocese of Guildford, Church of England.

He was appointed Chairman of the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) Board by President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria on January 3, 2012 a position from which he resigned September 25, 2013.

Dr. Kolade has promoted business integrity in Nigeria through his chairmanship of organisations such as Integrity Organisation, The Convention on Business Integrity, and Managing Business for Christ.

He served in several national and international bodies, having been President of

• The Nigerian Institute of Management (1985- 88),
• The Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (1988- 93),
• The International Institute for Communications (1973 – 75)
• The World Association for Christian Communication (1975-82).

Dr. Kolade is a recipient of Nigerian national honour - Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON).
