Ibadan Branch Holds Her 2019 Annual Luncheon, Revives Goat Case & Awards 5 Members

The 2019 Annual Luncheon & Merits Award Ceremony of GCIOBA-Ibadan Branch also known as the Mother Branch had come and gone but the warm feelings of ecstasy it came with lingers on in our heart.

The event which took place on Sunday, the 14th of July, 2019 at the Felicia Hall of the prestigious Jogor Centre, was themed “The Role of Alumni Associations in the development of Education in Nigeria” which was delivered by the Ondo State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu (SAN).

The traditional dramatic Goat Case was brought back, and its humorous presentation put smile on the faces of the audience.

The Branch awarded 5 of her members – Yanju Adegbite (1967), Abiodun Odude (1971), Yinka Adepoju (1971), Abayomi Oke (1979) and Oluseun Abimbola (1981) for their excellent contributions to the field of Broadcasting, Security, Advertising, Labour and Law respectively; and their enormous commitments to their Alma Mater.

The event was graced by the GCIOBA National President, Wale Babalakin (1971), who was the Chief Host of the event. The Chairman of the day was the Ooni of Ife, Oba Dr Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, ably represented by an High Chief; while the Special Guest of Honour, Engr Seyi Makinde – the Oyo State Governor was represented by the Oyo State Chief of Staff, Chief Bisi Ilaka, who is also an Old Boy of the school.

The Chairman of the Luncheon Planning Committee was Alloysius Bazuaye (1991-September Set) while the Host was the Branch Chairman, Femi Babalola (1975).
